Tsukiko had walked slowly to the museum, of course she had gotten stares and people wondering how she could see with her bangs covering her eyes. All she did was keep her head down and mouth shut, just as her father had taught her. That day, she had gotten bored at home, her father was gone for a medical conference and her mother was doing house chores, which left her with no one to talk to, so she decided to leave. She always thought there wasn't enough for her to do around the city but Tsukiko really didn't have a lot of friends nor did she do this thing called 'dueling', even though she use to have a deck in the past. Her father thought it would get good for her and to strength her intellect.
She stopped and looked at the steps of the and tilted her head to the side, revealing one eye. A small smile sprawled on her face. "This shall be an interesting day." She said quietly, walking up to steps.
After paying to get in, she started to walk slowly around the museum. Everything her interested her, Tsukiko could even call this place her second home and everything inside her family. After a while, she walking into an empty room, no one seemed to walk in there, which perked her interest as to why. She looked at all of the items and stopped in front of one. It was a mirror and a very beautiful on top of that. "That's so lovely." She said, looking at the old writing on it. Suddenly a small cry for help caught her attention and she looked around but saw no one. Huh? She thought, shrugging it off to admire to mirror once more.

Dan had been going about his day almost as usual. Helping out the people who visited the museum find exhibits, giving small facts about things, and basically being a tour guide at one point. Finally he got to have a small break from work, and was meandering about the building. Even though it creeped him out terribly, Dan was constantly drawn back to the mirror. His memory of what had happened there no too long ago still echoed in his mind.
There was a young girl in there admiring the mirror. She must've heard a noise, because she turned around like someone had called to her. As she went back to studying the mirror, Dan walked into the exhibit.
"Hey there! Is there anything you want to know about that mirror?"

Tsukiko looked up at Dan and then down at the ground. A situation she couldn't leave. "We... Well." She was thinking of what to say, there was so much, so maybe something simple, "Who owned the mirror. It's really beautiful." Tsukiko started out, smiling slightly.
Now, questions where forming in mind to ask this man. It was an interesting item in hte museum, it wasn't here the last time that she came. Maybe I would be able to do this as a research paper... She thought. Tsukiko stared at the mirror for a moment and then back at the man. She then shoved her bangs behind her ears since her parents always got annoyed with her hiding behind them when she was around people she didn't know, at school, since she knew some of the people she would hide comfortable behind them. Her dark purple eyes shown with excitement to learn about the mirror, yet they also had they yearning to get back to her comfort zone.

"That is a very good question. Dan started. "However, we're not quite sure yet. Very little is known on this mirror other than that it was found in the sand in an ancient Egyptian tomb of some kind."
He got closer to the mirror and started staring at it again. "Whatever secrets this mirror holds, I'm going to unlock them. Its issued its challenge to me." Realizing how crazy that sounded, he turned to the girl, rubbing the back of his head. "Heheh, well... I'm working on translating the hieroglyphs on the border of the mirror."

She pressed her lips together. An unknown owner... Tsukiko tilted her head to the side, most of her bangs escaping her ear. "What kind of challenge?" She looked at the mirror and the relfection it gave of her. "What happens if it ends up being dangerous?" Her eyes flickered over to Dan.
"Well then... Um, how old it is? How was the area?" She dug deep with her questions, not sure where it would go, but hopefully somewhere. This mirror was way to interesting to her. It was in her nature to do this, well she wasn't way to sure if it was or not, but she believed it was. I wonder if papa will be happy with what new information I'm picking up. Tsukiko thought back to when he use to be so proud of her. That was until she hit the unfortunate age of 10.

"I've no doubt its dangerous. There's something about that mirror... I'm not sure exactly what, but there is something." Dan took a step back from it, his eyes locked on his reflection. He thought back to the other day when the mirror freaked him out.
"I'm not quite sure on its age just yet, but I want to say at least from the time of Ramses I. It was found in the ruins of a tomb, but we can only guess as to what kind of tomb as most of it was decimated before it was discovered. Nothing was left of the walls or ceiling and the only thing left intact was that mirror."
Something shimmered on the face of the mirror. Hoping it to be some clue to help him, Dan pulled out a small notepad from his shirt pocket. He tilted his head, trying to find the spot to allow him to view anything etched onto the mirror. "That's weird..." He started to sketch something on the paper of the notepad. The form of some kind of monster was copied onto Dan's notes. "This is new. Why didn't I see this before? It kind of looks like something off a Duel Monsters card."

She listened carefully, nodding her head at the dangers of this mirror. Tsukiko then frowned slightly when he said something was wrong with this mirror. There doesn't seem to be. She examed the mirror closely, seeing nothing but the writing and her reflection. Ah the reign of Ramses I, it was an interesting era for Egypt and her people. She nodded slowly, so the place was ruin before the exploration team came, seems like tomb thieves didn't want to mirror. Interesting... Tsukiko thought, crossing her arms.
Tsukiko then looked at the mirror as something appeared on it, it made her jump back slightly. "That's weird..." Tsukiko hear him say, stating to draw out what it was. Upon hearing that it seemed like a duel monster card, that's where Tsukiko was blind. "Wh... what kind do you think?" She asked, looking into a mirror closely. Why did it have to come to this... She thought about a boy who was close in age with her... What was is name, Yagi, Yigi.... Yugi?

Dan showed the picture to the girl. It appeared to be a fiend of some kind, or at least that's what it looked like. "I'm lost on this one. I'm good with ancient history and I know that modern Duel Monsters is based off of an ancient Egyptian game, but why would it be on this mirror?" There were so many questions that he himself couldn't answer just yet. Maybe translating the glyphs on the mirror's border was the key, but that would still take time.
Looking even closer at the mirror, something strange was happening again. The glass seemed to shake just so slightly. Dan's face was nearly on the display case when suddenly the face of someone else, distorted in anguish, replaced his own. With a small yell, he stumbled back on to his rear end. The face disappeared just as fast as it appeared. Leaving little time for anyone else to see it.
"Please tell me you saw that." He turned to the girl, a shaken and worried expression on his face.

Tsukiko nodded slowly as she looked at the picture. Wow... So, it's older than I thought... Tsukiko thought in wonder, But he is right... Why in this mirror. Her head tilted down, but it's just a game, a card game... A card, PAPER game. She didn't understand and it frustrated her that this was one thing that she couldn't put two and two together. Tsukiko looked up once more to look at the writing, maybe it was time for her to learn a new language.
Suddenly the glass started to shake, making her step back, stumbling a few times. Tsukiko felt her heart rate go up in a flash. She then noticed that Dan's face was pretty close to the mirror, her eyes flickered from him to the mirror once more to see a face and one that didn't look too happy nor Dans' face either. Her head went down, just like it normally wound when she was in a large crowd, flinching when she heard his yelp and him crashing on the floor.
"Please tell me you say that." Tsukiko nodded quickly, now not saying anything. Her mind reeled with just what happened. This isn't suppose to happen... This is no normal mirror. How was this made? What's it purpose? That's all that went across her mind as she felt her face heat up slightly. "I don't... I don't..." She took in a deep breath. "I don't think that's normal." Tsukiko finally got out.

"Good, that means I'm not crazy. That is what I meant by something not being right with that thing." Dan stood up wearily. He dusted off the seat of his pants and walked to the girl passively attempting to herd her away from the mirror.
He stopped for a second and realized he didn't know who this girl even was. "You seem pretty smart. What's your name?" Dan asked the girl.
As they would hopefully be leaving that area, he was starting to think about getting some outside help. Tsukiko was pretty interested in this already, and she seemed quite intelligent and capable. She might be able to help him. Also since she was more familiar with Domino, she might also be able to help him track down this famed King of Games, Yugi, who lives in town. He'd might be interested in this.

Tsukiko nodded slowly agreeing that neither were crazy, watching the man stand up, seeming quiet tired. Her eyes then flickered down as he walked over her and ushered her out of that room, her head turn to take a look at the mirror once more. What is this about? Tsukiko asked herself, stopping just as Dan had.
"I am Tsukiko Mudari. But isn't it better to introduce yourself first?" She asked, tilting her head. Tsukiko then gasped slight and looked down, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude." Tsukiko said quietly. She looked at him when he was quiet and in thought.
"Is there anything I can help you with?" She folded her hand in front of her as she waited to answer.

"No, you're right that was rude of me. I'm Dan Carlisle. I work here as part of my university classes. Its a pleasure to meet you Tsukiko Mundari" Dan looked back at the mirror and shuddered. The mirror shimmered in the artificial light of the florescent bulbs overhead. That thing had something evil attributed to it and it unnerved Dan somewhat.
"I was wondering. Would you like to help me solve the mystery of this mirror. I'd ask my associates at the university, but I'm afraid they'd commit me if I started talking about that mirror. I could teach you how to translate hieroglyphs into whatever language and you could help me find someone of importance. A Mr. Yugi Mutou, also known as the King of Games. I heard he lived here with his grandfather, who was an archeologist. They might be able to help us even further." Dan was a bit embarrassed at asking her to help him like this. Hopefully she would be interested. If not, he'd just have to wander around til he found the guy.

Tsukiko looked down as he disagreed with her. "Well it's a pleasure to meet you Mr.Carlisle." She smiled slightly, slumping her shoulders slightly. She then noticed that he too was still looking over at mirror. It was a very strange object to her, even if she didn't know what was up with it. He then brought a proposal up about unlocking the secrete of the mirror and learning about hieroglyphs only if she helped him find an important person.
"Yugi Mutou." She gasped slightly, "Of course, it's a small shop where papa had taken me to build my deck." Tsukiko nodded slowly remembering the place and how nice both Yugi and his grandfather where to help her out, it's a shame that she never truly gotten into the game yet. "I should be able to get you there... And I never guessed that Yugi's grandfather was an archeologist." She thought back to that day or any day she would see him in school, that strange necklace that was around is neck should've given a clue to her. As it's said, most smart people lack common sense... Tsukiko sighed mentally hard.
"But, I'll be glad to help you out." She smiled a little bigger, bowing slightly.

Dan smiled and nearly jumped for joy. Things were going so well. He never would have guessed the girl knew exactly where this guy and his grandfather was. It was quite the lucky break for him and it meant they were that much closer to discovering what that mirror hid.
"Wow! That's excellent! I need to grab my bag and clock out of work and we could go there." Dan said, excitement apparent in his voice. "We could discover amazing things from that mirror. Who knows what knowledge we can unlock! His grin seemed to reach all the way across his face. He walked with a spring in his step to the employee rooms and quickly changed into his street clothes -A clean white shirt with a green button-up shirt over it, tan cargo pants held up with a brown belt with two card holsters in his right hip, and brown shoes- and as he walked out of the room, he slung a brown leather satchel over his left shoulder.
In his arm was a thin hardcover book with a bit of English writing on the cover. He would hand it over to Tsukiko and give a sheepish grin. "I forgot that most of the books on Egyptian hieroglyphs are in English. Can you read it?" He wasn't sure if she could or not, he wasn't trying to insult anyone's intelligence... well maybe his own... but definitely not another person's. He had a few in Japanese, but he left them in his apartment.

Tsukiko still had her smile as she watched him keep in his excitement. I guess I did something good for him. Her smile lightened up in thought, not a lot of people where like that when they were around her, most would shove her with the rest of geeks and nerds, but she was lucky enough to not get bullied. She then heard him say how he'll get out of work so they could head to the Game Shop. It is true, this could be a find of the year... She looked up at the ceiling in thought of that, how he could famous one day because of this. Of course that would be something she wouldn't want to get involved, she would rather stay in the shadows cheering for him.
As she waited, Tsukiko walked up to the front part of the museum and waited for him. People walked by her, exiting the museum talking about what they had seen and learned from the exhibits. Tsukiko then turned to see that Dan had changed into a different pair of clothing causing her to blush slightly. A book was then handed to her, she looked inside and then back up at Dan. "Yes, I do know English." She gave a quick nod, hugging the book to her chest. "Well then shall we get going?" She asked, behind her bangs an eyebrow rose up slightly.
