"Run!" shouted the male, as he reached out, grabbed his companions wrist, and started pulling her away.
The female refused to move. She was frozen in fear. It was as if the male was pulling on a dead weight.
"Come on! We have to go, now!" exclaimed the male, and he tugged on her again, quite forcibly.
The female looked back at the male, eyes full of terror. She than looked back, into the darkness. A figure seemed to be walking towards them. It couldn't be made out, but this shadowy figure seemed to be coming closer. It's pace was slow, each step seemed to echo inside the abandoned warehouse.
"Now!" said the male figure again. He pulled. This time, she followed.
The couple raced farther into the abandoned warehouse, the only known entrance to the two was behind this new shadowy figure. All thoughts about how they were confused why their parents didn't want them to see each other, of why two high school students were forced to meet inside this abandoned warehouse in the middle of nowhere in order to see each other was forgotten. The only thing the two worried about now was for each others survival, and if what they saw was real, despite how impossible it was.
"There!" cried the girl, the first time she's spoken since she saw it.
The boy nodded in agreement when he saw what she was pointing too. It was an old, but sturdy looking door. When the two got to it and opened the door, hope was dashed. There seemed to be no door to the outside world. Once in, they would be trapped.
The shadow figure seemed to increase it's speed. It's feet never seemed to touch the floor. It simply...glided over it.
The male pushed the female inside, than got in himself, closing the door behind him.
"What do we do now?!" shrieked the girl.
The male shook his head as he pushed the latch, locking the door. Immediate survival is the only thing he could think about. Nothing more.
The door was slammed by the other side. Whatever was on the other side definitely wanted in. The male went to the door, thrusting his weight to it, pushing on it. A battle of strength now seemed to be going on between the two sides of the door. Hope started to fade.
"The window!" yelled the female, pointing up.
The male just noticed it too. A small window seemed to be 7 or 8 feet high from the ground. It was a small one, but it was possible they could squeeze through it. He was about to say something, when the female started piling anything heavy right on the floor next to it.
Escape thought the male excitedly. We can make it! He glanced over at the female, who seemed quite confident at the last box she placed. You're so amaz...
The male's thoughts were stopped cold by the protrusion that seemed to stick out from the door. A curved blade seemed to have stabbed through the door. The blade was half buried into the head of the male. Blood seemed to pour violently from the wound. The male's eyes seemed to glaze over, his face stuck in a pose of agony.
The female looked over. No sound would come from her. Her face didn't seem to even recognize what happened. Not only till the blade seemed to withdraw, the body slump down beside the door, did her eyes widen. Her legs seem to just give out. She fell to the floor, her back against the wall. Escape just....didn't seem important anymore.
The blade hacked away at the door, but the female just stared down at the body that now lied dead on the floor. She was almost convinced that those lifeless eyes were staring back at her.
The door remains crumbled. The creature stepped in. It glided over the dead body. It's weapon, a large scythe, was held over it's shoulder. This creature was no man, but something else. Decaying bone was the only thing that could be seen. Not an ounce of flesh or blood. The woman struggled to her feet, but she just seemed so weak. She barely managed to stand, using the wall behind her as support.
"Terrible. Just terrible," said a new voice.
For a moment, the female thought that it was him. Back from the dead. She eyed the body on the floor happily. It hadn't moved at all.
"I told you I wanted him. What am I supposed to do with a soulless body?" said the voice again.
The boned figure stopped. It turned towards the open doorway, where a new figure stood. The female peered behind the boned figure, confusion paired with despair showed up on her face. This new figure seemed more human than the figure equipped with the scythe. It walked, its feet touching the floor, just as she did. However, the shape of the body was distorted by the black robe the figure wore. Even its face was shrouded by a dark hood. The only thing she could tell about this new figure was the complete lack of humanity that the voice seemed to show.
"It took a long time picking out a suitable victim. A victim that would be almost alone. And now he's dead." said the hooded man. "What, you couldn't have done the woman in?"
The hooded figure seemed to be talking directly to the boned creature. The creature said nothing. It did nothing. Only an unnerving groan could be heard.
Than there was a moment of silence. This silence though, was short lived.
"WHO AM I SUPPOSED TO KILL NOW!" yelled the hooded man.
The female shook. Her eyes were watering. She believed that her fate would now soon mimic the man she loved. And although she wanted to be with him again, she didn't want it this way. She sobbed, saying intelligible words.
"SHUT UP!" yelled the hooded man to her. "You don't have any right to cry. I lost my kill! MY KILL!"
She continued to sob. The hooded figure took a few steps forward. He began to raise his hand, ready to forcibly silence her. However he stopped when he got halfway to her. He just turned around.
"Just finish her, would you? I'll have to get what's mine later," he said to the boned figure.
As the hooded figure seemed to walk away, the boned figure seemed to walk forward. The girl tried to get away, tried to step onto the pile of boxes she created earlier for a chance to escape, but she lost her balance on the second one, and all the boxes fell over. She than tried to get as far away as possible from the boned figure wielding a scythe, and backed herself up into a corner.
She screamed. The hooded figure, back turned from the female, smiled underneath his hood. This would be the only enjoyment he got tonight. He would try and make her screams as fun as possible.
The female refused to move. She was frozen in fear. It was as if the male was pulling on a dead weight.
