So there are many ideas I had in regards to the mirror. And figure I should post up the ideas here and see what everyone thinks.
Deciphering the Mirror:
Obviously there is more to this mirror than just a reflection. It held the Dark Duelists and holds even more... For one, It has the key to finding them and sealing them back in. This I've already started, but I wanna know what you all think of it.
Mirror History:
The first and most dangerous monsters, the Archfiends, were imprisoned in the mirror during the reign of Ramses the Great, but their evil influence stretched too deep to be stopped. Now, the Archfiends had four loyal servants: the Dark Duelists. At the same time Priest Seto waged war to claim the throne, the Duelists were starting to amass their own army to overthrow them all and release their masters.
The Dark Duelists were sealed sometime during Priest Seto's attempt at stealing the throne from Pharaoh Atemu. When he met his end, Seto was buried with the mirror far from anything, so neither would be seen again.
Many years later, the tomb (or what remained of it) was accidentally discovered by archeologists. Miles off the edge of their map, the tomb would probably never had been found any other way. The body was missing as was any other artifact of mention except the mirror. It was immediately shipped to Domino City for examination. That's where the site plot begins and the Dark Duelists return...
Last time on Deciphering the Mirror:
Dan starts deciphering when he is frightened several times by spirits trapped in the mirror. Tsukiko Mundari witnesses the second haunting and joined Dan in decoding the mirror's puzzle. Dan decoded the an ominous phrase mentioning the Dark Duelists and searches to find Yugi Mutou and, more specificly, his grandfather Solomon.
Seto Kaiba while wandering the museum, has a Battle City-esque flashback to his former life as Priest Seto in ancient Egypt depicting the sealing of the four Dark Duelists. He meets Dan and reveals him to be the new US regional champion replacing Bandit Keith. Calm words were exchanged and, but little to Dan's knowledge, he'd accidentally thrown the gauntlet. The next day, Kaiba came back and challenged him to a duel. An entertaining match ensued, but ultimately and surprisingly Dan walked away the victor!
Dark Corners of the Earth
The mirror holds more evil than just the Dark Duelists. Evil spirits are still sealed inside. The rune holding the Duelists back was broken, but others are still intact. If they so wanted, a Duelist could break in and try to amass and army of dark souls and fiends.
Dan is too obsessed with this mirror to leave it alone for long, staying late to decode the raw glyphs. If these two were to meet in a shadow game, who would win? Who would lose? What would happen to said loser?
