His reading spectacles were something that he had gotten over the past year. They were round and large in shape, and something that the seventeen year old didn't pull out often; only to read. He kept them in their case otherwise. But there was a paper that he had to write and a textbook in front of him, recording information on el-Amarna for his history project.
Blonde bangs fell down in his face and spiky red and black hair stuck up behind him like a fan of sorts. Bright eyes scrolled down the textbook page along with his long finger, as his right hand jotted down information. He wore his school uniform, along with his choker and his chain to keep the Millennium Puzzle close to his person.
One may ask why Yugi Mutou was reading the textbook here, at the front of the game shop. Well, his grandfather was taking a day off to go to the dentist, and his mother was at work, like she normally was. So Yugi had offered to watch the store, and he figured that he would do something productive while he did it.
He sat back on his stool for a couple of minutes and looked outside. The sky was cloudy and the leaves were starting to fall; winter was coming and it would be a rough winter. He looked back at his paper again. Although he loved the material dearly, even too much of something you loved could put you off of it.
'This would be so much faster if I knew what actually happened.' He mused internally, with his eyes closed shut and his head hanging back.
'If that was a hint, I'm not helping you with it... el-Amarna isn't a name of a place I recognize.' An internal voice, deeper then his own, spoke back to him. It caused a smile to crop up on Yugi's face.
'Thanks, partner. You're a lot of help.' The young man jabbed back sarcastically in his head, and then he leaned back down to work on his paper.

Yosuke Amagi opened the door to the game shop, allowing the small bell attached to the door to ring softly, alerting workers to a potential customer. Yosuke stopped only momentarily in the doorway before walking though, letting the door close behind him.
He was actually quite surprised when he looked around. He had heard how popular this game shop was in the city. Ever since he entered the city of Dominio, he saw grand buildings and shops. This was nothing like it. The game shop was simply a short narrow path till you hit the counter, with only a few (unknown to him) games and some unopened Duel Monster packs to the side of the walkway.
Not all like I expected he thought to himself, as he walked closer to the counter.

The wind outside blew into the shop with a cold chill and the bell rang, signaling to the writing boy that there was a potential customer that had just stepped in. The young man sitting on the stool looked up slowly. His eyes glanced over the rim of his glasses (that had yet again dragged down his nose) and he saw in front of him a black haired boy that seemed lanky to him. Not to mention he was tall. Yugi didn't take much note of his physical features though, as he just simply took off his glasses and placed them down on the desk.
He finished off a note quickly on his paper and put down the pencil with care, smiling his 'customer service' smile... which really was just his natural smile. "Good afternoon... how are you?" Yugi asked the boy. He figured as usual that he would just start it off as if he were getting acquainted with a new person. He thought of what he was going to say next as well; a lot of Grandpa's customers were in here to try to find Duel Monsters cards, but this one may be in for a different reason then that.
That was always a shocker. He would've chuckled at the thought, had he the rudeness, but he didn't.

Yosuke looked over at the young looking kid behind the counter. His eyes glanced at the item hanging from his neck for only a moment before his eyes trailed upward to see what was on top of the young looking boy's head.
"That's quite an interesting hair style," muttered Yosuke, a slight smile appearing on his face.
Yosuke walked up to the counter, eying everything in the room, before he stopped at the end. Learning forward, he placed his hands on the glass counter, and his eyes examined the contents beneath it.
Cards. Plenty of them. All sorts of rare Duel Monster cards laid open and exposed. I can see why duelists come here thought the man to himself. He looked up at the boy behind the counter.
"Yes. My name..." started Yosuke, pausing only slightly before he widened his smile. "...its Yosuke. I'm here because I heard this was the hot spot for fans of Duel Monsters. But..."
Yosuke paused his sentence, as he looked around, and continued, "...it seems a little empty right now."

Yugi sweatdropped. How did he explain? He knew exactly why this place was a 'hotspot', even if he didn't like the fact. It was because of his dueling and his tournaments. But he hadn't really dueled in a year. Sure, he had helped Jonouchi practice for tournaments, but that was about it... and Jonouchi wasn't a huge challenge when Yugi knew his style. He looked at the shop; it was small and quaint, and not exactly a place for playing the games like Ryuji's dice shop. It was a place where you sat and talked about the game if you really wanted, but it didn't get too terribly busy.
But not only was Yugi thinking about this, but he was also thinking about the person in front of him. Why would he tell his name right off the hop? That was a little odd... Yugi hid any thoughts about the boy's personality from his face, and instead he just held out his hand.
"My name is Yugi." he said charmingly. He never said his last name when he was introducing himself anymore. It caused too many issues. "It's not so much a hotspot in the fact that duels go on here... it's rather more quiet then that." Kind of like the quiet life that his grandfather, his mother and he tried to lead. "We get duelists in here all the time, and we sit and talk about the game and what Industrial Illusions has done with it... but that's about it." He said with a slight sweatdrop.

At that moment, Yosuke's face showed nothing but disappointment. His shoulder's slumped down as he let out a loud sigh. His left hand briefly went to his front left pocket, where an awkward shape bulge protruded, before just letting it fall beside him.
"Ah man..." he muttered, clearly upset with what he heard. He paused for a few moments, upset by the current set of events, before he looked at Yugi with a renewed determination. An emotional 'second wind' was the only thing to call it.
"Well..." started Yosuke as he reached into his pocket, and pulled out a thick stack of Duel Monster cards. "...I heard this was a place for new players to get help with the game of Duel Monsters. See, I've been playing for a year now, and although I'm not very new..."
Yosuke grinned sheepishly, taking his free right hand and scratching the back of his head.
"...I'm not very good. I was hoping I could duel other players, and just get some tips on how to improve my Deck. Or maybe some personal tips on how to play generally."
Yosuke had a pleading look in his eye. He seemed very eager (and perhaps overly hopeful).

Yugi knew that look. He knew that look WAY too well. The look usually set him on guard when he saw it, because when he did that, press got involved. Especially if he was in public. He liked his private life where it was, thanks. He smiled apologetically, and that was the only indication that he gave that he knew exactly was Yosuke was trying to get at.
"Well, I can give you a bit of guidance I suppose... I should know the game..." He waved around at the shop. "We sell the merchandise." He seemed to be generally avoiding saying that he knew it because of who he was. "What was it that you wanted to know? Or did you want a step-by-step instruction?"

Yosuke's hand instantly went inside his pocket as soon as he heard the word 'guidance'. However, he struggled to pull out his deck, as if his hand and deck was stuck inside his pocket. It took him a few moments of struggling (and a little hop) for him to slam the deck out, just in time for Yugi to say 'instruction'.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" repeated Yosuke quickly, not even taking a breath in between each one. "See, I don't get it. I went up against a stall deck, so I tried adding this..." said Yosuke, as he searched through his deck, and pulled out a magic card Mystical Space Typhoon.
"...and than I went up against a burn deck, so I tried adding this..." Yosuke shuffled around some more, pulling out a Hallowed Life Barrier.
"...and than went I went up against a dragon deck, I tried adding this..." Yosuke went through his deck again, which was now nothing more put a bunch of cards everywhere on the counter. "...where did I put that card now...it's around here somewhere..."
Yosuke continued to shift through the now pile of cards on the counter.
[OOC: Sorry, I know I keep changing how these posts look. I'm just trying to make it more organized looking, and I do kind of like the idea of changing the font colors when someone talks......I hope I'm not being too dumb about it]

((That's fine, lol.))
He sweatdropped as he watched the boy shuffle around for cards in his pocket, and he actually thought he could both give some legitimate advice and make a sale here. The boy was incredibly unorganized. He ducked behind the counter and pulled out a belt with a deck case on it. It looked a lot like his, which would make sense; he got his at this shop. He laid it out on the table.
"First of all, you may want to buy this from Grandpa's shop." Yugi commented. "It's certainly more organized then sticking cards in your pocket and perhaps losing some of the cards in your pocket. Which is where I suggest you look for the dragon card." He placed the belt off to the side and hoisted himself on his arms so that he could see clearly over the top of the counter.
"Second of all, your deck won't win if you design it around defeating every single opponent you come across. You need to focus internally on what your deck's specialty is. Take your cards and come up with a strategy that works, not a strategy that will win, and figure out how that strategy can help you take out cards. For instance..." He hopped off of his arms and walked around to the side of the counter, grabbing a Six Samurai pack.
"These guys are a toolbox deck. They can take on every obstacle relatively with ease, and they focus on wiping the opponent's field while flooding their own field." He ducked down again and grabbed another pack.
"These little fairies can make a pretty competitive Counter Fairy deck, which focuses on stopping attacks, traps and magic, leaving way for either burn effects to take place or direct attacks." He ducked down again.
"These guys are Spellcasters, but their main focus is gathering Magic Counters to power up their abilities." He placed the three packs back and walked back around to the front.
"So what is the focus of your deck? How does it work? You have to ask yourself that before you start fitting in cards to help you against other decks."

Yosuke examined the belt that the salesman had shown him. Picking it up from one end, letting the rest hang down, he frowned.
"It looks awkward." he said as he stared at it. He glanced up at the teenager across the counter as he placed the belt back down. "You sure people actually wear that?"
Yosuke than picked up the six samurai pack. Turning the pack over he asked, "Well my current deck has a lot of warriors. Instead of buying a bunch of packs and hoping for the best, you got any that might just give my deck a little boost?"
He put the one pack down and grinned. "I'm kinda not...." he paused. "...not very lucky when it comes too rare cards."

"Oh no, I wasn't intending for you to buy a whole new pack... I was just showing the fact that these have common strategies... though with a warrior deck, there's a few ways to build it. Are you focusing on a toolbox, or some of the newer types like E-Hero? Equip deck? Gemini? Though, in any warrior deck..." He pointed towards a card behind the display. "... The Warrior Returning Alive is always a good idea." It was hard to guage this guy's skill... so he figured he'd start with one of the basic warrior staples.

Yosuke lowered his head to get a good look at the card that was pointed out. "Oh yeah...I have one of those."
He than glanced upwards. "And my deck just has a bunch of warrior cards thrown in it. Although...I always did like the idea of E-Heroes."
Yosuke searched through his other pocket, and threw down Giltia the D. Knight.
"I have a few fusion warriors....but they're not too good. Heh." said Yosuke, sounding a little embarrassed as his eyes were closed. He added a little chuckle, as if enjoying the situation.
